INITIAL DEVELOPMENT OF A MINIATURIZED TELEMETERING PACKAGE FOR DATA ACQUISTION AT HIGH SPEED WATER ENTRY.

Abstract

The shock due to high speed water entry of a body may easily reach several thousand g's, and cause serious structural damage. A telemetry package is needed which will accurately measure these accelerations. The report summarizes the approach, problems, and results of a program to develop a miniaturized self-contained telemetry system for measuring the accelerations due to water entry velocities of up to 1000 feet per second.
