THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A LUMINOUS SHOCK TUBE FOR SPECTROSCOPIC INVESTIGATIONS OF HIGH-TEMPERATURE GASES.

Abstract

The shock tube and auxiliary equipment are described in AD-410 569. Modifications and additions to the equipment are discussed. The theory of the formation of spectrum lines, applicable to shock-tube spectroscopy, is developed. A temperature behind the reflected shock is computed by a line reversal method which is in good agreement with previously measured excitation temperatures. (Author)
