CANDIDATE MATERIALS FOR WHISKERS COMPOSITES.

Abstract

An analysis was made of candidate materials for whisker composites. The expected strength-to-weight ratio of composites of nineteen matrix materials with fourteen different fiber materials as a function of fiber content was calculated. The availability, bondability, and thermal expansion properties of candidate materials are discussed. (Author)
