Abstract

The extensive literature on peyote and Cannabis sativa (marihuana), with particular emphasis on reducing the uncertainty about the benefits or perils inherent in the use of LSD and other recent additions to the hallucinogen family is reviewed: (1) Introduction, (2) Addiction and habituation, (3) Peyote, (4) Cannabis, and (5) The LSD controversy.
