SATELLITE INFRARED BACKGROUND EXPERIMENT DATA ANALYSIS,
Abstract
The results of a statistical analysis of background data obtained with a satellite borne radiometer operating in the 1.4, 1.8, 2.2, and 2.7 micron spectral regions are presented. The insolation angle is considered as a fundamental parameter of the background, and all statistical distributions are accordingly referred to a specific insolation angle. Distributions of the absolute radiance and local radiance difference are presented. Joint probability amplitude distributions together with the derived linear correlation coefficients for certain spectral band pairs are also presented. (Author)
