ANTENNA WINDOW: A TECHNIQUE FOR PROPAGATION THROUGH A PLASMA SHEATH.

Abstract

Several improvements of the antenna window system (see, e.g., AD-426 970) are described including the use of cryogenic pumping to evacuate the Dewar, inclusion of a spare transmitter in the payload, which may be electrically substituted for the main transmitter in the advent of a pre-launch transmitter failure; and, replacement of the solenoid switch driver with a pneumatic bellows.
