THE MECHANICAL AND MICROMECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF BORON.

Abstract

The orientation of a boron 'single' crystal rod was determined by the Laue back reflection technique. Using a Netzsch dilatometer the coefficient of thermal expansion was found for room temperature to 1050C for both single, 111 , and polycrystals. In addition, studies of the fracture characteristics of boron were continued. (Author)
