INTERACTION OF ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES AND CLASSICAL PLASMAS.

Abstract

The most important terms in the spherical harmonic expansion are the time and space dependent coefficients. Expressions for these functions have been derived with the following assumptions and the justifications for them. The sum and difference frequency terms being of second order were assumed negligible. In addition, the diffusion coefficients were equated to zero on the grounds that experimental data could be obtained prior to the onset of these effects yet after the pumping pulse. Other controllable experimental parameters were established. (Author)
