OROGRAPHIC EFFECTS ON WIND VARIABILITY,

Abstract

One aspect of investigating the wind structure of the Tularosa Basin is the examination of the effects of nearby mountain ranges on perturbations in the wind field. Charts of standard deviation of low-level wind speed and direction as a function of mean wind speed and mean wind direction ere analyzed. A relation between these values and terrain features such as canyons and mountain barriers is suggested. (Author)
