PARTIAL FRACTIONS AND ERROR-CORRECTING CODES

Abstract

In this note it is shown how partial fractions may be used to derive the properties of linear recursive sequences and, in particular, of Bose- Chaudhuri codes. One of the novel features of this method is a new and transparent proof of the basic result of MattsonSolomon.
