WAKE SURVEYS BEHIND HYDROFOIL-STRUTNACELLE CONFIGURATIONS - FOR APPLICATION TO THE AG(EH).

Abstract

Wake surveys were conducted on a model of the AG(EH) main strut-pod-foil configuration with and without a pod fairing, and on three related strut-pod-foil configurations. The report presents the results of these wake surveys. One of the significant results is that each pod corner causes an additional stress reversal per cycle on the propeller blades, intensifying fatigue and vibration problems. (Author)
