MANAGEMENT DECISIONS TO AUTOMATE,

Abstract

The report is concerned with the knowledge and understanding of the automation process. The objectives of this study were three: (1) to determine what factors influenced managerial decisions to automate in selected cases; (2) to study available company records in the selected cases for the purpose of comparing effects of automation with expectations with particular emphasis placed upon expectations and results affecting the labor force; and (3) to draw conclusions from the case studies as to the future pace of automation and the future effects upon employment.
