HEAT STRESS DURING TRAINING OPERATIONS.

Abstract

The effects of a sudden change of environment--from a cool to a hot climate--were studied during military training operations. The lack of acclimatization in physically fit combat units resulted in measurable heat strain, dehydration, and salt deficiency as well as in a marked deterioration of performance.
