SIMULTANEOUS DETERMINATION OF CE(141) AND CE(144) IN FISSION PRODUCT MIXTURES,

Abstract

A method was developed to determine the isotopic ratio and the disintegration rates of Ce(141) and Ce(144) in the presence of each other, by gamma pulse-height analysis. The method was based on the relationship between the composition of the mixture and the integrated peak ratio of gamma and x-ray peaks. The effects of various counting conditions were examined. The usefulness of the method was exemplified by application to the simultaneous determination of Ce(141) and Ce(144) in fission product mixtures. (Author)
