PHYSICAL DESIGN AND EXAMPLES OF APPLICATION OF FREQUENCY-INDEPENDENT ANTENNAS,

Abstract

A number of new antennas that possess a band width wider than 4:1 at medium gain while maintaining a comparatively steady radiation pattern have recently become known. From among the multitude of geometrical configurations that have been proposed, described here is the logarithmic periodic broad-band antenna. Following a brief introduction dealing with the forms taken by broad-band antennas, this report considers the logarithmic-periodic dipole antenna in its various modifications. The discussion includes dimensioning and limits of application.
