INVESTIGATION OF TERRAIN ROUGHNESS

Abstract

Field operational capabilities were provided for a modification of the existing terrain profilometer system. These capabilities were then tested in a series of surveys run in the vicinity of the Yuma Proving Ground. A computer program was developed and used to reduce the terrain data to a continuous profile. A post-operational modification was made following the survey work to improve the system accuracy and efficiency.
