MILLIMETER INTERFEROMETER,

Abstract

A millimeter interferometer, based on the Froome interferometer, has been designed and built in such a way that no calibration is necessary to measure the complex dielectric constant of a given material. The interferometer (which has been operated at 35 Gc) is mathematically described, and its operation is explained. Ultimately, the unit is expected to be operable at frequencies greater than 70 Gc.
