MICROWELDS FOR MICROASSEMBLIES.
Abstract
The report covers the results of an experimental welding program in which OFHC copper ribbon was welded to nickel-plated alumina substrates, approximately 0.010-in. thick. Resulting data indicated that these welds met, and in the case of weld density, exceeded the requirements of Technical Requirement SCL-7684. The welded module delivered contained a weldment density of 3700 welds per sq. in., which exceeded the required weld density of 1600 welds per sq. in. stipulated by the Technical Requirement.
