NUCLEAR ANALYSIS OF GASEOUS CORE REACTORS USING AN APPROXIMATE MULTI-GROUP TRANSPORT THEORY TECHNIQUE.

Abstract

The results of a one-group transport theory analysis, which employs a technique for estimating the epithermal fission yields, are compared to a recent, more rigorous fourteen group transport theory analysis of a gaseous core reactor. The model used for this study is a spherical gaseous core reactor, homogeneously fueled with U235 and moderated by graphite at 4000K.
