A RE-ENTRY VEHICLE SIMULATION DESIGNED FOR THE STUDY OF GROUND SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Abstract

A computer simulation of re-entry vehicle trajectories has been developed as an aid in determining the requirements of supporting ground-based electronic systems. This report describes the mathematical model used in the simulation and discusses, with the aid of examples, the usefulness of the output data in the preliminary design of tracking and communication networks.
