STRUCTURE AND DEVELOPMENT OF COMETARY TAIL.

Abstract

The physical conditions in comets which lead to the formulation of type I-tails are discussed. The report comprises the following five seperate papers: (1) The ionization in comets; (2) brightness and structure of the Na-emission in comets; (3) the heads of comets and the lifetimes of their molecules; (4) the axes of the type I tails of comets; and (5) an expanding halo of comet alcock (1963b) index cards.
