COLLISIONS OF THE WEST FORD NEEDLES WITH MICROMETEORITES,

Abstract

It is shown that collisions of micrometeorites with West Ford Project needles are sufficiently numerous to break the needles in several years. These collisions may affect the lifetime of the orbit (predicted period of eight years) and of the experiment. (Author)
