PROTECTIVE COATINGS FOR DEEP SUBMERGENCE VESSELS.

Abstract

Stress cycling of resin/fiberglass laminates at fiber stresses ranging from 13,000 to 70,000 psi does not significantly alter the physical properties of the laminate. At high fiber stress levels, laminates developed cracks parallel to the surface filaments. These cracks were observed after 10,000 cycles at fiber stresses in excess of 50,000 psi. (Author)
