THEORETICAL STUDIES OF THE ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD IN THE FOCAL REGION OF COHERENT LIGHT BEAMS.
Abstract
A study was made of the structure of the electromagnetic field in the neighborhood of the focus of a coherent beam. Some related studies were also undertaken, concerned chiefly with coherence properties of light, photoelectric detection of light fluctuations and the relation between the semi-classical and quantum mechanical description of light beams. Results of these investigations are contained in 11 published papers. Titles, authors and journal references are listed. Summaries, which record the main results obtained are given. (Author)
