RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ON ADVANCED GRAPHITE MATERIALS. VOLUME XXXIII. INVESTIGATION OF HOT-WORKED RECRYSTALLIZED GRAPHITES.

Abstract

Fabrication and testing of hot-pressed (ZT) graphites made from several base stocks are discussed. Physical properties, with emphasis on porosimetry, are reported for varieties of molded and pressure-cured graphites both before and after hot pressing. A small amount of work was also done with hot pressing of extruded graphites, powders, composites, and the surfaces of formed articles. The latter process is termed surface densification. (Author)
