HIGH TEMPERATURE THERMOELECTRIC GENERATOR.

Abstract

The construction of the modules for the 300-watt generator has been standardized, except for the air seal on the cold end of the modules. The segmented positive leg of the modules consists of a copper heat sink followed by a sodium-doped lead telluride cylinder and terminated by a tantalum-doped tungsten diselenide cylinder. The negative leg of the modules consists of a gold-nickel alloy strap, running (insulated) along one side and joined to the hot end of the positive leg. Satisfactory soldering and brazing methods for joining these elements have been developed. The assembly is encapsulated in a closed-end mullite tube. (Author)
