APPLICATION OF LIGHT AND IMAGE INTENSIFICATION.

Abstract

A small amount of CdSe powder was purified by a sublimation method. Chemical analysis of the purified powder is being made. Studying the effects of Zn impurities on the photoelectronic characteristics of CdSe sintered PC cells ended with the conclusion that Zn is an undesirable impurity. Work with ZnSe was started. No success was achieved yet in either sintering or sensitization of this powder. Hall effect measurements were made with imporved signal to noise ratio. In the PC powder program the effect of oxygen and of halogens (Cl and 1) was studied. More green emitting EL films were made, because they show about 10 times higher efficiency than yellow films. Characteristics of EL films and sintered CdSe PC elements and of their combination in light amplifier were measured and analyzed. (Author)
