OZONESONDE OBSERVATIONS OVER NORTH AMERICA, VOLUME 2

Abstract

An experimental program for the measurement of the vertical ozone distribution was initiated by the Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories in January 1963. A network of eleven ozonesonde stations was established in North America to provide high resolution observations of the vertical ozone distribution for a variety of research purposes. The resultant data are published in a series of reports. The first volume (AD-435 873) contained the ozonesonde and associated radiosonde observations for the months of December 1962 through March 1963. This second volume contains the ozonesonde and associated radiosonde observations for the months of April through August 1963. Also included in Volume 2 are the average distributions of ozone over the North American continent as derived from the network observations. Data averages for overlapping bimonthly periods are presented for January-February through July- August 1963.
