HEAT TRANSFER STUDIES OF THE DLG-6 BOILER.

Abstract

Heat transfer data were obtained for the DLG-6 test boiler. The data included gas temperatures and gas velocity profiles. The data were obtained by extending probes into the boiler at 15 pertinent locations. These locations were at the furnace exit, screen exit, superheater cavity, superheater exit, in the generating bank, at the generating bank exit and at the economizer exit. Operation was conducted at various boiler steaming rates, excess air and burner combinations. Information was obtained concerning the effects of boiler steaming rate, excess air and burner combination on gas temperature and heat absorption in the various boiler sections. (Author)
