RECENT TRENDS IN THE SOVIET ECONOMY,

Abstract

Some recent trends in the Soviet economy from the viewpoint of their influence on Soviet rates of growth are examined. Growth rates in effect before Stalin's death are analyzed in order to evaluate the influence of the post-Stalin changes. Future developments in the economy are predicted with particular emphasis on the probabilities that rates of growth in the future will or will not vary significantly from those that have characterized the past.
