THE IMPACT THEORY OF THE ORIGIN OF LUNAR CRATERS,

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present the results of computations on the pressures and temperatures attained in the impact of large meteorites on the lunar surface, based on the equation of state as obtained from the ThomasFermi statistical model of the atom.
