SOME QUEUING PROBLEMS IN MACHINE MAINTENANCE,

Abstract

The paper discusses some queuing problems that arise in the context of the maintenance of a group of machines, each of which is operated intermittently, and all of which are subject to several kinds of malfunctions. A general forme3gxighis problem is made and the general method of solution indicated. A class of solutions in form suitable for direct computations is given. As a special case, a solution is given to the case of m sub j repairmen of type j, j = l, . . . , k for a group of fully utilized machines. (Author)
