ANALYSIS OF ERRORS IN BUBBLE CHAMBER TRACK MEASUREMENTS.

Abstract

The general procedures of propagation of errors were applied to derive error estimates for the quantities derived in the geometrical reconstruction of tracks and points in space from overdetermined stereoscopic measurements. Formulas are given which are suitable for use in computer programs such as PACKAG. The sources of error explicitly considered are measurement errors and multiple scattering errors. All computations use a Gaussian approximation to the distribution function. (Author)
