STUDY AND CORRECTION OF SPURIOUS POWER OUTPUT (RK6344 MAGNETRON).

Abstract

Work was devoted largely to the study of tubes using wideband output filters and tubes with non-standard vane shapes, as well as methods of combining into a single tube the various tube structures studied separately in the course of the program. The use of integral wide-band output filters is a very effective means of suppression of spurious signals, and some reduction in third harmonic signal level may be obtained by using slanted vanes in place of the standard square vanes. Combination of these features and others tested earlier in the program into a single tube should result in a magnetron with much reduced spurious output as compared to the standard RK6344A. (Author)
