AXIAL-SYMMETRIC BLAST WAVES IN FLUID DYNAMICS AND MOTION OF PARTICLES.

Abstract

The report deals with the solution of axial-symmetric shock waves in fluid dynamics generated by a point source explosion and with the determination of the particle paths. The entire blast wave problem is formulated as a classical initial-boundary value problem; some approaches to its numerical solution are elaborated. Special attention is paid to the uniqueness of the solutions and to the possibility of determining geometric configuratiooitaruuration and expansion rate of the shock wave without integrating the fluid dynamics equations. The effectiveness of the method developed is demonstrated in an application to a particular situation. (Author)
