Spark Counter for Recording Particles of Cosmic Radiation,

Abstract

A recommendation is made for selection of the magnitude of the spark counter feed voltage. It is shown that spark counter effectiveness depends not only on the electric field strength, but also on other design features of the counter when the other parameters are identical. A spark counter of area 23 X 34 sq. cm, and gap magnitude of 1.5 mm may be applied in work with an ionization calorimeter for research on particles of cosmic high-energy radiation. (Author)
