A CENTRALLY CONTROLLED ITERATIVE ARRAY COMPUTER (RADCIAC),

Abstract

The primary objective of the report is to provide the programming reference manual for a parallel processing computer system (Centrally Controlled Iterative Array Computer). This system is the first computer which is capable of performing one hundred simultaneous operations on different data at the same time. The parallel processing is accomplished by an array of 10 x 10 small processing modules operating under a central controller. This machine is one of the first departures from the von Neumann type conventional computer organizations. It will be available for government agencies to program, operate and experiment with parallel processing. (Author)
