CORRELATION OF AN ACCELERATED CONDENSATION APPARATUS WITH THE JAN-H-792 HUMIDITY CABINET,

Abstract

The correlation between an accelerated condensation apparatus and the JAN-H-792 humidity cabinet is reported. Included in this study is the employment of a test specimen which was found to be applicable to both apparatus. This test specimen interchangeability was confirmed by the results obtained relative to condensation rate, temperature differential and performance tests under controlled condi tions. Comparative data on six rust preventives were obtained in the two apparatus. A statistical analysis of results indicated that the accelerated condensation apparatus is an improvement over the JAN-H-792 humidity cabinet with respect to test time and precision. Short test time is obtained by increased condensation on the test specimen and good precision is obtained by overall control of the test conditions. (Author)
