ON THE GENERAL CONCEPT OF STABILITY AND LYAPUNOVS DIRECT METHOD.

Abstract

A general concept of motion is dealt with covering various types of motions, defined by differentional equations, difference equations etc., as special cases. A general definition of 'stability' and 'attractivity' of a fixed motion is given which comprises most of the numerous modifications of the original concept of stability. Lyapunov's direct method, in appropriate extension, is applied in order to obtain general stability criteria for the general type of motions under discussion. (Author)
