THE OBTAINING OF, AND CERTAIN PROPERTIES OF FILIFORM AND ACICULAR SINGLE CRYSTALS OF GERMANIUM AND SILICON, AND THEIR SOLID SOLUTIONS,

Abstract

A new method is proposed of obtaining filiform and acicular single crystals of germanium and silicon and their solid solutions, based on crystallizations from gas phase with the help of component-solvent. This method makes it possible to grow so-called single crystals having various forms, lengths, and sections and possessing great mechanical durability and a sufficient degree of homogeneity and perfection of structure.
