PERT PROGRAM MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT PLAN,
Abstract
PERT (Program Evaluation and Review Technique) is a management technique that utilizes the concept of timebased network program planning. AFSC recognized the value of PERT for application on critical or complex weapons systems and projects and, in the past two years has become its largest user. Now, the basic techniques are to be extended to include cost and other selected management parameters. However, since PERT is not an end in itself in spite of publicity accorded it, this system must be seen in perspective as only one of numerous techniques used in management of AFSC programs. This plan considers this throughout the management and development activities which are described in it.
