THE ANOMALY IN THE APPLICATION OF PLK AND PARABOLIC COORDINATES TO THE RAILING EDGE BOUNDARY LAYER,

Abstract

The application of the Poincare-Lighthill-Kud (PLK) method to the leading edge of a flat plate predicted the well known optimum parabolic coordinate system for boundary layer analysis. The coordinate system applicable to the trailing edge problem as predicted by the PLK method is found to differ from the conventional parabolic boundary layer coordinates by an order of magnitude.
