Design Change Impacts on Airframe Parts Inventories

Abstract

This study is an attempt to provide part of the information needed to assess the costs of holding a spares inventory, namely, the cost of airframe inventory which becomes obsolete as a result of design changes. Such information, for example, would be extremely useful in determining a suitable spares procurement policy for a new military weapon.
