ITERATIVE SOLUTIONS OF THE HELMHOLTZ EQUATION,

Abstract

This report presents a new approach to the solution of the problem of scalar scattering by three-dimensional finite bodies. Specifically, a method is found, of general applicability, whereby the solution of the static c potential problem for a Dirichlet boundary condition on a particular surface is transformed, by successive operations, into the solution of the scalar Helmholtz equation satisfying the same boundary conditions.
