A WATER TUNNEL AIR CONTENT METER.

Abstract

This paper describes a system for measuring the size and concentration of free air bubble nuclei in the limited ranges of size and concentration thought to exist in a water tunnel. The system is based on measuring the amplitude attenuation of an acoustic pulse of sound as it is propagated across a water tunnel test section. An arbitrary method is proposed for converting the measured sound attenuation into size a e and concentration of aiair bubbles. (Author)
