PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE SELECTION FOR COMMAND AND CONTROL APPLICATIONS,

Abstract

The paper discusses the major considerations involved in selecting a programming language for command and control applications. These considerations are divided into two major categories: (a) System considerations, (b) Language and compiler requirements. Following this discussion, the difficulties of programming language selection are illustrated by citing recent American work in measuring programming language effectiveness. Some conclusions are drawn. Finally, important considerations in standardization are mentioned. (Author)
