GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF A COOPERATIVE ANTI-COLLISION SYSTEM FOR AIRCRAFT,

Abstract

A system, which requires no advance in the state of the art of communication techniques, for the prevention of aircraft mid-air collisions is presented. This cooperative system utilizes radio transmitters and receivers in the aircraft and presents the following information to each aircraft: presence of another aircraft; relative position, bearing, and elevation of the aircraft; closing and opening rate; and, course of the other aircraft.
