RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF PROPAGATION OF HIGH POWER WAVES IN IONIZED MEDIA.

Abstract

In this report a survey is given of the research in the field of propagation of high power radio waves in ionized media, and allied fields, carried out by the staff of the Research Laboratory of Electronics 1960-1964. The investigations reported cover such aspects as the develop ment of a non-linear magneto-ionic theory, generation and radiation of mixed frequency waves in ionized media, artificial heating of the F-region of the ionosphere, scattering of electromagnetic waves by oscillating, anisotropic dielectric and ionized media, ionized streamwhistler mode interactions (in the exosphere), and wave propagation properties of moving ionized media.
