DATA ACQUISITION AND REDUCTION. PHASE VII. PREDICTION OF RESULTS OF AN EVENT FROM SAMPLE DATA ANALYSIS.

Abstract

This report investigates various methods for reducing experimental records from a sample of similar events. The objective of the investigation is to find a method for predicting the outcome or result of this event in future trials. Statistical methods are used to find the probability that results from the event will fall within a given range of values. The various procedures that are studied are illustrated with a sample of seven data traces obtained at the Materials Testing Laboratory of the State University of Iowa. (Author)
