Design of a Plane-Wave, Near-Field Calibration Array

Abstract

The design and construction of a near-field hydrophone array for calibration of underwater transducers initiated by Trott was reviewed in detail. Considering the recommended procedures the authors proposed to build a nearfield array to test a transducer having the dimensions of a 17 ft cube, at a frequency of 3 kc.
